Rex Burkhead

New England Patriots

Rex Back

Despite being listed as questionable for Sunday’s AFC Championship game vs. Jaguars, it appears as though Patriots’ RB Rex Burkhead will play.
This will cut into the 13 targets Amendola saw last week.

Adam Thielen

Minnesota Vikings

Making The Wright Move?

Adam Thielen (back) is questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Eagles.
He's fully expected to play after limited practices the last two days. He probably won’t be 100 percent so if you’re putting in a line-up you might want to pivot to Diggs or save some money and drop down to Jarius Wright who grabbed three-of-six targets for 56 yards Sunday and has established himself as the number three WR in this offense.

Leonard Fournette

Jacksonville Jaguars

Ankle In Question Again

Fournette aggravated his ankle in the Divisional Round and was limited early in the week. He was left off the injury report for Sunday's AFC Championship game. Fournette saw a heavy workload last week getting 27 touches in Jacksonville's upset of the Steelers. T.J. Yeldon rushed five times for 20 yards and a touchdown and caught 3-of-3 targets for 57 yards. If you’re looking for a cheaper option I expect we see Yeldon to be used to keep Fournette from aggravating the injury early.

Tom Brady

New England Patriots

Give Him A Hand

Reports are that Tom Brady threw the ball "incredibly well" during Friday's practice. He is listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship game against Jacksonville, but I don’t think there was any real doubt that he’d play. Keep in mind what D-Rex spoke about on the Pyro Podcast 303 andScott Barrett tweeted about Brady last week:
Weeks 1-10: 21.2 fantasy points per game, 110.9 passer rating
Weeks 11-17: 14.2 fantasy points per game, 87.3 passer rating
The hand injury on top of his achilles injury, as well as going against the Jags #1 rated pass defense could keep the Patriots attack grounded this week. Lewis is the obvious play, but if Burkhead (Q) comes back it could be he or White that steals the show.

Tom Brady

New England Patriots

Tom Still Terrific?

Tom Brady was first listed on the team's injury report with an Achilles injury heading in to Week 11.
Weeks 1-10: 21.2 fantasy points per game, 110.9 passer rating
Weeks 11-17: 14.2 fantasy points per game, 87.3 passer rating

Fantasy Goo: This should line up for a good week for Brady, Tennessee is 8th in fantasy points allowed to RB’s, but just below average against QB’s. The Patriots are 13 point favorites on Saturday Night, if Brady doesn’t do it at home in prime-time then something is wrong.

Alvin Kamara

New Orleans Saints

Primary Role Shifting

Saints have run 5 times at/inside opponent's 5-yard line over last 4 weeks (including playoffs):
Alvin Kamara 3 carries, Zach Line 1, Mark Ingram 1. Kamara was in on all 3 Saints run plays at/inside 5 vs. Panthers last week, including Line's 1-yard TD run.

Fantasy Goo: If you’re trying to decide between Kamara and Ingram for the playoff run, Kamara looks to be the much better play.

Jay Ajayi

Philadelphia Eagles

It's A Trap

Jay Ajayi (knee) is practicing in full for the Divisional Round.

Fantasy Goo: Atlanta is 5th in fantasy points allowed to RB’s this year and they are more susceptible to pass-catching backs. Todd Gurley rushed 14 times for 101 yards in the Rams' Wild Card loss to the Falcons, adding four receptions for 10 additional yards. Ajayi might have been drafted before Gurley this year, but that was clearly a mistake. Ajayi has talent, but he’s far from a good option this week.

Chris Hogan

New England Patriots

Back in Action

Chris Hogan (shoulder) is expected to return for Saturday's Divisional Round game against the Titans.

Fantasy Goo: He’s going to take a couple of weeks to get in tune with the offense, I’m looking to save him until the Super Bowl if you’re in one of those one and done fantasy playoff tournaments.

Drew Brees

New Orleans Saints

Strength vs Strength

Saints RBs led NFL during regular season in receptions (9.0) and receiving yards (77.8) per game.
Vikings held opposing RBs to fewest yards per target (4.2) and 3rd-fewest yards per game (30.6).

Fantasy Goo: The Vikings have been absolutely sick in all aspects on defense this year. If the Saints are going to pull this one out it sounds like it’s going to have to be a Brees week, I’m not so sure he’s going to be the guy you want to start on the road this week.

LeSean McCoy

Buffalo Bills

Not The Real McCoy

LeSean McCoy said if he plays Sunday, "I want to be able to cut well enough to where I don't have a lot of pain cutting. I just want to be close, or the best as far as 100 percent as I can get. The type of game like this, you got to lay it all on the line.”

Fantasy Goo: McCoy is a poor play against the Jags this week. The Jags strength on defense is against the pass (#1 in FP allowed), but they are still strong against the rush (11th). I’m not taking any Bills on fantasy playoff squads or in DFS this week.

Derrick Henry

Tennessee Titans

Arrow Pointing Down

DeMarco Murray (knee) didn't practice again Thursday. Derrick Henry show ready to go.

Fantasy Goo: The way to attack KC is through the air, they rank 9th in fantasy points allowed to RB’s. They will most likely be in negative game script. KC hasn’t allowed any team to score over 20 points in Arrowhead all year.

Julio Jones

Atlanta Falcons

No Fly Zone

Julio Jones finished 11th in NFL in red-zone targets but caught only 5 of 19. He finished 4th in targets inside 10 but only caught 4 of 11.

Fantasy Goo: The Rams have a strong pass defense, especially against outside receivers, but are second worst in fantasy points allowed to RB’s. Freeman and Coleman are the only Falcons I am considering this week.

Kenny Golladay

Detroit Lions

Under the Radar

In the first game with TJ Jones (shoulder) on IR last week, Kenny Golladay played 95% of snaps and led DET WRs with 8 targets.

Fantasy Goo: Marvin Jones has a history of shredding the Packers defense and is a solid play at $6500 on DK, but Golladay is half the price ($3300) and will probably see a similar number of targets. If Detroit had something to play for I’d be stacking the heck out of this game, but I still think it’s smart to have one of these guys in the line-up this week.

Patrick Mahomes

Kansas City Chiefs

Rookie Debut

Patrick Mahomes was 2nd in PFF’s QB Rating when kept clean in preseason. He rushed for 744 yards, 22 TDs in his last two years at Texas Tech. Denver has allowed multiple passing TDs to six-straight QBs not named Petty or Brissett.

Fantasy Goo: The rookie was supposed to take over for Alex Smith much earlier this season, but Smith and the Chief’s came out firing on all cylinders and kept the rookie on the bench. Mahomes will get his chance this week as Smith gets a week off before the playoffs. Denver may be packing it in, but they still have one of the best defenses and I expect they will play more inspired this week against a division rival.

Wayne Gallman

New York Giants

Last Man Standing

Giants will be without Shepard (neck), Engram (ribs), and King (concussion) vs. WAS. Wayne Gallman has 9, 7, 8 target counts in last three weeks.

Fantasy Goo: Washington ranks 24th in fantasy points allowed to RB’s and Gallman is $4200 on DK. Feels like a great way to save and pay up at other positions.

Alex Collins

Baltimore Ravens

Burfict Situation

Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict ruled out for game Sunday at Baltimore because of shoulder injury.

Fantasy Goo: Collins becomes a solid RB1 this week. Cincinnati’s run defense is a sieve with Burfict out.

Akeem Hunt

Houston Texans

Akeem No Dream

Charcandrick West is out Sunday vs Denver with an illness. Akeem Hunt and Kareem Hunt only RBs on active roster for KC. It would be a surprise to see Kareem play much. That means a ton of Akeem Hunt and likely some De'Anthony Thomas on passing downs.

Fantasy Goo: Akeem is min price ($3000) on DK so the definition of a free-square, but there’s a reason he’s bounced around the NFL and never earned a starting role. Denver is 5th in fantasy points allowed to RB’s, I’m not rostering Akeem when there are so many other options this week.

DeAndre Hopkins

Houston Texans

Milestone Not Worth The Risk

Bill O'Brien on DeAndre Hopkins' status: 'Probably won't know up until game time'. Typically, we might classify this as coach-speak, but Hopkins has never missed a game, and is four catches away from 100 for the season. He's probably pushing hard to play.

Fantasy Goo: This is an awesome match-up for the Houston WR’s going against a very weak Indy pass defense, but there is really no reason for Hopkins to play, especially with the calf injury. At $8400 on DK he’s just way too pricey given this news. A sneaky start might be Will Fuller at $4300, he has 5 targets in each of the past three games and is coming off some difficult match-ups. Earlier in the season he was a superstar with Watson throwing the ball, but he has always had the big play in his arsenal no matter who the QB is.

Dion Lewis

New England Patriots

Vultures Are Always Flying

James White (ankle) remained limited at Thursday's practice. White was absent for last week's win over Buffalo but should be out there against the Jets in Week 17. He ranks eighth among running backs with 56 catches this year.

Fantasy Goo: Lewis dominated last week with White and Burkhead out, even though Gillislee vultured a TD. I would imagine that White playing will take away the five receptions Lewis had last week and the Jets actually have a better rush defense than the Pats week 16 opponent (Buf). The Pats will be looking to lock-up home field advantage and won’t be resting their starters, but they will probably be looking to get everyone some work as they prep for the playoffs. Gillislee appears to be nursing a hammy and is not expected to play, but let’s not forget how White performed last year in the Super Bowl.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Stars Sitting

The Steelers Marcus Gilbert tells reporter Tim Benz that the Steelers won't play Ben Roethlisberger or Le'Veon Bell in finale vs. Cleveland. Landry Jones will be under center for Pittsburgh and Fitzgerald Toussaint and Stevan Ridley will form a thoroughly underwhelming RB committee against the Browns.

Fantasy Goo: Underwhelming is an understatement for these two backs, a highly respected fantasy website hasn’t even updated the news on these two since the pre-season and doesn’t even recognize them as being on the team. The one player of note in this is Martavis Bryant, The Alien averages over 17 ppr points per game with Landry at the helm as opposed to 8.4 ppg with other QB’s. He also has 5 TD’s in 5 home games with Landry. Granted most of this production comes from 2015 when they worked together often in the preseason, but Bryant could be a very sneaky GPP play this week.

ALL PLAYERS LISTED ARE AVAILABLE IN 30% OR MORE OF CBS LEAGUES

CREAM OF THE CROP

DONTRELLE INMAN – WR – CHARGERS – AVAILABLE IN 67% OF CBS LEAGUES

Inman continued his hot streak this week, catching six passes for 71 yards with a touchdown. Dontrelle has now scored a touchdown in three straight games. The Chargers may be without Melvin Gordon next week after leaving this week’s game with an injury. If he does miss the game you can expect the Chargers to lean more and more on the passing game, which is great news for Inman, who also has great matchups the next two weeks. Playoff schedule: Oak, @Cle

BILAL POWELL – RB – JETS – AVAILABLE IN 48% OF CBS LEAGUES

Powell was the man this week and he crushed the 49ers for 145 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries, with another 34 yards on five catches. Powell is going to see a lot of touches the rest of the way, and could be a nice plug and play. Forte injured his knee and will get an MRI Monday, but expect Powell to be the main man for the rest of the season. Playoff schedule: Mia, @NE

SAM BRADFORD – QB – VIKINGS – AVAILABLE IN 74% OF CBS LEAGUES

Bradford has been quietly having a decent year, and grabbing him now could pay off big for you if you are struggling at quarterback. He threw for 292 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions this week, but he has a tasty playoff schedule that makes him a great stream over the next two weeks. Playoff schedule: Ind, @GB

ADAM THIELEN – WR – VIKINGS – AVAILABLE IN 80% OF CBS LEAGUES

Thielen went off for a 100-yard game this week, catching four passes for 101 yards. Adam has not posted three solid weeks in a row, and has become a trusted weapon for Sam Bradford. He has an excellent chance to be a good play over the next two weeks with favorable matchups. Playoff schedule: Ind, @GB

ALFRED MORRIS – RB – COWBOYS – AVAILABLE IN 61% OF CBS LEAGUES

Morris is great insurance if the Cowboys lock up home field and decide to rest Elliott, or at least reduce his workload over the final weeks of the season. Playoff schedule: TB, Det

PIERRE GARCON – WR – REDSKINS – AVAILABLE IN 52% OF CBS LEAGUES

Garcon has been a solid play since Week 8, and this week he gave you another solid performance, catching five passes for 59 yards with a touchdown. The Redskins are fighting for their playoff life, and have good matchups for Garcon the next two weeks. Playoff schedule: Car, @Chi

TREVOR SIEMAN – QB – BRONCOS – AVAILABLE IN 69% OF CBS LEAGUES

Sieman was throwing the ball a lot this week, and he completed 35 of 51 passes for 334 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions. The Broncos are not getting production from their running game, and newly signed Justin Forsett fumbled this week. Denver should lean on Sieman and the passing game the rest of the way. Playoff schedule: NE, @KC

MARQISE LEE – WR – JAGUARS – AVAILABLE IN 88% OF CBS LEAGUES

Allen Hurns is hurt, and Allen Robinson was ineffective this week, but Marqise Lee continues to show his value to the Jaguars offense. He had his best game of the year, catching five passes for 113 yards. He will have a good chance to keep that going over the next two weeks with nice matchups. Playoff schedule: @Hou, Ten

TYLER BOYD – WR – BENGALS – AVAILABLE IN 55% OF CBS LEAGUES

Boyd was still the player to add last week, but many others were fooled and went for LaFell. Boyd did not score a touchdown this week, but put up a good day with six catches for 49 yards and added 40 yards on two rushing attempts. He is the best receiver still playing for the Bengals, but has tough matchup next week, but an easier game in Week 16. Playoff schedule: Pit, @Hou

CAMERON MEREDITH – WR – BEARS – AVAILABLE IN 68% OF CBS LEAGUES

Meredith saw a nice increase in targets this week as expected after all the drops by Bellamy the previous two weeks. Cameron finished the day with 72 yards on six catches with a nice touchdown catch. He should continue to be a nice option over the next two weeks as he will be getting the targets and has nice matchups. Playoff schedule: GB, Was

DWAYNE WASHINGTON – RB – LIONS – AVAILABLE IN 84% OF CBS LEAGUES

Riddick missed this week with a wrist injury, and if he misses for time Washington will be the benefactor. This week he carried the ball 16 times for 64 yards, and caught one pass for 10 yards. His next two games will be on the road. Playoff schedule: @NYG, @Dal

CHARLES SIMS – RB – BUCCANEERS – AVAILABLE IN 70% OF CBS LEAGUES

Sims returned to action this week resuming his role as secondary and third down back for the Buccaneers. He started out slowly, but he made his present felt this week carrying the ball four times for 17 yards, and catching three passes for another 33 yards. He could be a nice plug and play over the next two weeks. Playoff schedule: @Dal, @NO

ANQUAN BOLDIN – WR – LIONS – AVAILABLE IN 58% OF CBS LEAGUES

Boldin continues to give you a solid fantasy floor, and this week he caught three passes for 49 yards, but added a touchdown. He has become a bigger part of the offense, and will at least give you 40 yards with the potential for a score, but he is not going to give you a monster yardage game. Playoff schedule: @NYG, @Dal

JACK DOYLE – TE – COLTS – AVAILABLE IN 72% OF CBS LEAGUES

Doyle continues to be a nice safety valve for Andrew Luck, and this week he caught five passes for 55 yards. He can provide you a nice floor if you need it, and has the potential for a score. Playoff schedule: @Min, @Oak

C.J. FIEDOROWICZ – TE – TEXANS – AVAILABLE IN 41% OF CBS LEAGUES

Fiedorowicz only caught three passes for 32 yards, but he did see redzone targets and was knocked out at the 1-yard line this week. He is not going to give you huge performances, but he is providing a nice floor right now. Playoff schedule: Jac, Cin

PLAYERS WITH UPSIDE THAT ARE WORTH STASHING

TY MONTGOMERY – RB/WR – PACKERS – AVAILABLE IN 57% OF CBS LEAGUES

Montgomery saw a lot of action this week, carrying the ball nine times for 41 yards with a touchdown, and he caught three passes for 45 yards. The Packers are going to rely on Montgomery to be the primary runner, and he can so many things on the field he is worth adding for the championship run. Playoff schedule: @Chi, Min

KENNETH FARROW – RB – CHARGERS – AVAILABLE IN 98% OF CBS LEAGUES

Melvin Gordon took a wicked shot this week and there is a good chance he misses next week’s game. If that is the case Farrow would step in as the lead back. He came in this week and carried the ball 16 times for 55 yards, and caught six passes for 23 more. There are few running backs you can pick up off the wire that will get this high a volume of touches this late in the season, so grab him if you can. Playoff schedule: Oak, @Cle

MATT MOORE – QB – DOLPHINS – AVAILABLE IN 100% OF CBS LEAGUES

Ryan Tannehill left this week’s game with a knee injury and was in street clothes to finish the game. It is believed to be an ACL injury to Tannehill. Moore came in and completed three of five passes for 47 yards. Moore is competent veteran, and the Fins are still fighting for the playoffs. He has a nice matchup next week, and could be a nice plug and play if you need him. Playoff schedule: @NYJ, @Buf

CHRIS CONLEY – WR – CHIEFS – AVAILABLE IN 99% OF CBS LEAGUES

Conley has big play ability and he showed it this week, catching two passes for 70 yards. The Chiefs are not a team that is going to throw the ball around the field a lot, so there are going to be busts with this guy, but he is exciting and will see one on ones with Jeremy Maclin back on the field. Playoff schedule: Ten, Den

SETH ROBERTS – WR – RAIDERS – AVAILABLE IN 96% OF CBS LEAGUES

Roberts is a boom or bust, but he has been seeing more targets lately. He only had two catches for 12 yards this week, and also had some glaring drops. Those drops might cost him targets next week, but he is the starting slot receiver and will get chances. Playoff schedule: @SD, Ind

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET WITH THESE GUYS

TAVON AUSTIN – WR – RAMS – AVAILABLE IN 50% OF CBS LEAGUES

The Rams are doing a better job of getting the ball in Austin’s hands with Goff under center, but it is still so hit or miss, with a lot more misses. He had two carries for 27 yards and caught seven passes for 62 yards this week. Playoff schedule: @Sea, SF

CHARLES CLAY – TE – BILLS – AVAILABLE IN 84% OF CBS LEAGUES

Clay had one of his best games of the season with three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. The 40-yard touchdown was the highlight play, but it mostly highlighted with poor tackling. Clay is better when Watkins plays, but the Bills don’t throw the ball enough to make him a confident start in any game for your fantasy playoffs. Playoff schedule: Cle, Mia

CARSON WENTZ – QB –EAGLES – AVAILABLE IN 49% OF CBS LEAGUES

Wentz threw for 314 yards this week, but he only threw one touchdown, with an interception and a fumble. There is upside with Wentz, but you can’t trust him in the next two weeks with your playoff life on the line. Playoff schedule: @Bal, NYG

ROBBY ANDERSON – WR – JETS – AVAILABLE IN 98% OF CBS LEAUGES

If you are reaching for this rookie for the last two weeks, you are probably doing just that, reaching. He had a nice game this week with six catches for 99 yards, but you can’t count on that production, especially with Bryce Petty under center. He also does not get to play the 49ers again. Playoff schedule: Mia, @NE

SMOKE AND MIRRORS – AVOID THESE GUYS ON THE WIRE

J.J. NELSON – WR – CARDINALS – AVAILABLE IN 80% OF CBS LEAGUES

Nelson scored two touchdowns on his only two touches this week. He had one catch for an 8-yard score, and carried the ball once for a 56-yard touchdown. That is what we call touchdown dependent people. He has a nice matchup next week, but you can’t count on the big play. Playoff schedule: NO, @Sea
