Buffalo Bills

Waiver Wire Target

Clay continues to play well. This week he caught six passes for 39 yards with a touchdown. He is still a favorite target of Tyrod Taylor, and his floor is rising.

Boldin Retires... For Now...

Anquan Boldin left the Bills today and has informed them he is retiring
This almost definitely allows Matthews to work from the slot/flanker role, not that it really changes the Bills plans. From the glimpse of the Bills preseason game I saw, they had Boldin working outside in the X-receiver position, formerly held by Watkins. I have little doubt that Boldin knows he no longer has the physical ability to fulfil the requirements of that position, so he left.

Fantasy Goo: I still think he ends up somewhere, and will vulture enough TD’s to devalue others, but not have enough value on his own to be fantasy viable. Zay Jones is back in play for the late round flyer, and Clay is looking like a good match-up streamer at TE.

Clay more involved in Bills offense

Waiver Wire after Week 6: Clay continues to get more involved in the offense, and this week he caught five passes for 52 yards, but was held out of the endzone. He has become the second best option in the passing game, but the Bills don’t throw enough to give him top end potential.

Clay Out and Tye Could be Your Guy

The Buffalo Bills will be without their TE Charles Clay. If that is what yoyu are facing, look to the Giants. With the ODB vacuum, Tye should see an increase. He has scored in last two weeks. Eli has 86 red zone passes. The first place QB is only 3 ahead. So, not only do they pass when they get in close, Tye wil get even more looks without ODB.

Buffalo Bills

Clay says he will be ready for season opener

Clay showed up large last season in replacement of Dustin Keller. The Dolphins are expecting their offense to make a big leap this season, and Clay is big part of that expectation. All injuries are bad, but knee issues are the ones that can deteriorate and end careers. The Dolphins and Clay are confident he will be on the field for the season opener, but the risk of a re-aggravation is there, and could cost him significant time. Clay should move down your tiers a few slots.

Charles Clay

Buffalo Bills

Clay a legit Top-10 Fantasy Tight End in 2014?

Since Dustin Keller was only signed to a one-year contract last off-season, Clay should enter the 2014 season as the Dolphins undisputed starter at tight end.

Considering the 24-year-old youngster (25 in February) played H-back in college and began his professional career as a fullback, the learning curve for Clay at the TE position is certainly on the up-slope.

With a full off-season to acclimate himself to the nuances of the position, Clay will likely enter 2014 fantasy drafts as one of the larger sleepers around.

Keep an eye on this guy.

What an F'n ADP Value Pick

Oh my lord is that a value pick or really a waiver wire pickup for that matter. He wasn't drafted by more than 5 fantasy owners this year and all of them either were wearing a Dan Marino jersey or went to the University of Tulsa and had an elective class with him.

This goes to show that staying on top of it can pay huge dividends. When Dustin Keller went down, it was obvious this dude was going to be the guy. Instead of taking shitty TEs like Tony Moeaki, look for players that will get a newfound opportunity and might just make the most of it.

Charles Clay

Buffalo Bills

Clay looking to stay hot against the Patriots

Clay has been on a tear as of late, and has been a one of the many surprises in fantasy at tight end this year. If you Clay on your team, you have no doubt benefited from grabbing him late or off of the waiver wire this season. That bold move is going to help you this week.

Clay will be facing the Patriots who are 22nd at stopping the tight end. Clay has seen 10 targets in each of the last two weeks, and he should be in line for at least that many against the Pats. Last week Jordan Cameron was targeted 9 times and had 9 catches for 121 yards and a score against New England. That was his first 100-yard receiving game since week 1.

Clay is a must start.

This goes to show that staying on top of it can pay huge dividends. When Dustin Keller went down, it was obvious this dude was going to be the guy. Instead of taking shitty TEs like Tony Moeaki, look for players that will get a newfound opportunity and might just make the most of it.

This goes to show that staying on top of it can pay huge dividends. When Dustin Keller went down, it was obvious this dude was going to be the guy. Instead of taking shitty TEs like Tony Moeaki, look for players that will get a newfound opportunity and might just make the most of it.

Charles Clay (back) looking better

Buffalo TE Charles Clay missed the first game this season with a back injury last Sunday, but team doctors are encouraged by his progress. “The Docs are real encouraged by the way he looks,” said Ryan of Clay. “It looks good. Hopefully he’ll be ready to go this weekend.”
Clay sat out last Sunday with a back injury.

Clay should be ready for Sunday even though he was limited.

Charles Clay caught 5-of-6 targets for 52 yards

Charles Clay had been silent for awhile so it was good to see him break through. I would only use Clay in deep leagues or as a desperate start.

Unmolded Clay

Clay was a draft choice for many this season, at least for a secondary tight end, but many players who were not even drafted have surpassed him. At this point he is teetering on becoming a worthless roster spot, and I would not give him much more time to turn it around, unless you have the space to be patient.
