Chris Thompson

Washington Redskins

Chris Thompson is getting it done!

Only five running backs have more top-12 weeks then Chris Thompson in standard leagues: Fournette, Zeke, Gurley, Hunt, and Melvin Gordon.

Chris Thompson playing the DJax role

Chris Thompson had 15 looks in primetime last night, his most since Week 7 of last season when he got 19 against Detroit (his career high).

Thompson Flashes

Thompson only had three carries, but two of them went for scores, including a 61-yard scamper. He finished with six touches for 106 yards and two scores. Rob Kelley could miss time with the injury and Thompson is lightening in a bottle.

Fantasy Goo: Thompson is the back to own in PPR leagues, his floor is solid with the passing downs work and he will probably average five carries a game if Kelley (ribs) is out.

Washington Redskins

Matt Jones Still Plauged with Drops

Matt Jones has fumbled 3 times in the last 5 games. That brings his total to 8 fumbles in 270 touches. It undoubtedly cost him some FF Points in Week 7.

Fantasy goo: While Chris Thompson is a decent flex play if the matchup is right in PPR, this could very well be the opportunity that Rob Kelley needs to pull a Steve Miller Band, and "go on take the money and run". Chris Thompson's looks have increased in each of the last 3 weeks. The safe be is certainly Thompson, especially in PPR. Just watch out for the playoffs. From weeks 12-16, the team only has 1 home game and that is against Carolina.

Matt Jones

Indianapolis Colts

Jones Listed as Questionable But says he is 100% Ready to go

Jones, listed as questionable, did indeed run a full practice at the Saturday walk through. Jones himself, has claimed to be 100% ready to go and it appears the Questionable tag was just a precaution.

Fantasy Goo: I think Kelley will get some work, but Jones should get the majority of the 1st and 2nd down load. Thompson is indeed the pass-catcher out of the backfield. Any one of these Redskins backs could make a leap this season. Even though this is a Monday game, I would not worry about Jones playing, he should get at least 70% of the early down work.

Chris Thompson To Continue Third Down Role For Redskins In 2016

While second-year running back Matt Jones is expected to receive a vast majority of early-down work in Washington, Chris Thompson is all but locked in as the third-down specialist. (Rich Tandler on Twitter)

Fantasy Goo: Despite only playing in thirteen games in 2015, Thompson earned himself a modest target share as he saw 47 targets. He hauled in 35 of those targets for 240 yards and two touchdowns. His value is slightly higher in PPR leagues but tops out as the 55th overall back in our ECR rankings. While he remains slightly fantasy relevant, there just isn't enough value here to claim him as a solid handcuff for Matt Jones owners.

Washington Redskins

Chris Thompson spot could be endangered by Pierre Thomas or rookie Keith Marshall

The Washington Redskins are starting to feel that Chris Thompson is a wasted expense. They are looking to re-sign Pierre Thomas and drafted Keith Marshall in the seventh round.

If the 'Skins do sign Thomas he would most likely be the third-down back right away where Marshall and Thompson would battle it out. Most likely the rookie wins.

Chris Thompson's looks have increased in each of the last 3 weeks. The safe be is certainly Thompson, especially in PPR. Just watch out for the playoffs. From weeks 12-16, the team only has 1 home game and that is against Carolina.

Doubtful for Week 7

With Thompson doubtful and the sub par play from Alf, Jones should get a bump. He is listed as probable as apparatly his toes is no longer a concern. The Washington coaching staff said that Jones will likely take over 3rd down duties for Thompson
