Jordan Howard Runs Into Chicago Bears History Books

Jordan Howard made history on Sunday by being the first ever Bears rookie to rush for 100+ yards in his first two starts.

Fantasy Goo: Jordan Howard has been a beast and the best waiver wire pickup of the season thus far. He has earned the Bears' starting RB job and should continue to start once Langford returns. Howard remains strong for fantasy purposes and is set to prove himself against a tougher run defense in Jacksonville.

Jeremy Langford To Miss Four To Six Weeks With Ankle Injury

The Chicago Bears are expecting Jeremy Langford to be out 4-6 weeks with a sprained ankle.

Fantasy Goo: Langford came into season as the Bears bellcow running back, but rookie Jordan Howard has been outperforming him when given the opportunity. Howard should be next man up for starting position.

Jeremy Langford Full Participant in Bears Practice

After being in a walking boot following last week's preseason game and being limited in practice all week, running back Jeremy Langford was not limited on Thursday, he was a full participant.

Fantasy Goo: Langford showed great bounce back from Week 1 to Week 2 of preseason games, so it is a good sign he has recovered quickly from this injury. He is expected to get a heavy workload from the Bears this season, plan on him being a solid option for fantasy leagues.

Jeremy Langford was decisive, just as the Bears want him to be. With one quick cut, the second-year running back ran through a gaping hole and into the end zone late in the first quarter. Langford’s 5-yard touchdown run was important because he read everything right on a play the Patriots’ undoubtedly wanted to stop after three days of joint practices.

Fantasy Goo: Jacquizz Rodgers and Jordan Howard are backing up Jeremy Langford. Rodgers is a nice blocker and a 3rd down pass catcher while Howard is losing ground at this point. Langford should get all of the opportunity he needs to put together a decent season. The jury is still out on Langford who will be tough to predict for fantasy draft day as he seems to be either a good bargain or a wasted pick. In 2015 Chicago was 8th in most run plays with 45.70%.

Bears - Caveat Emptor

In the past 3 weeks, we have seen a swing back and forth between a committee and sole backfield. There have been talks of Ka'Deem Carey and the rookie Jordan Howard in a timeshare. The current conversation is Langford leading the community (2 or more rotating in.)

Fantasy Goo: Caveat Emptor is a latin term for "buyer beware." Langford's current ADP is right around the round 2-3 turn and at the present time, that is too rich for a convoluted situation. Langford showed flashes and I expect him to start because Fox gives veterans the nod most of the time. Carey vultured a couple touchdowns last year in goal line situations. Expect a Hill/Bernard like role in this offense.

Jeremy Langford Looks To Improve As A Receiver

Chicago Bears running back Jeremy Langford is looking to improve as a receiver during his sophomore season in an effort to be a true three-down player.

"The first thing is get into my routes better and be able to separate from linebackers a lot better," Langford said. "The most important part is catching the ball — catching the ball in traffic and catching the 50-50 catches." With Matt Forte out of the picture, Langford has a clear path to the starting role with only rookie Jordan Howard a threat to his workload. He should make for a fine RB2 in fantasy drafts entering the 2016 season.

Bears to Employ Running Back by Committee aproach

During an interview with the Chicago-Tribune, head coach John Fox suggested that the Chicago Bears will employ a by-committee approach at the running back position and use whichever player has the "hot hand" between Jeremy Langford, Ka'Deem Carey, Jacquizz Rodgers and rookie Jordan Howard.

FANTASY GOO:
The Chicago Bears have enormous shoes to fill at the running back position since parting ways with long-time star Matt Forte. Jeremy is the favorite to see the majority of the workload in 2016, but it is a crowded backfield with solid depth that includes Ka'Deem Carey and rookie Jordan Howard. Despite the reports of Chicago using a by-committee approach to the backfield, Langford should still be viewed as a borderline low-end RB1/RB2 in the upcoming fantasy football campaign as he's proven that he can make plays on the on the ground and as a receiver out of the backfield. As the offseason develops, either Howard or Carey will emerge as Langford's handcuff and could be worth a flier at the tail end of the draft.

Backs Scheduled to Work in Tandem n Thanksgiving

Exactly the kind of news owners DO NOT want to hear. Forte will start in name only, it sounds like they are going to be splitting carries. While I could see a hot hand approach, you have to realize, there is no disadvantage for the Bears to run Forte into the ground. They are more apt to save Langford as he is their future, he is under contract past this season.

Selling High on Langford

It is inevitable, Forte will return. Langford is the future, great Dynasty guy. But in redraft leagues, I think the Bears will yuse Forte like Dallas used Murray last year and let him go. They will need to pay Alshon and get another WR. Plus, in the fantsasy playoffs, the Bears face Wash., Minn., Tampa. Together they have allowed just 12 TDs to the position thus far and only 13 double-digit performances by opposing backs. About 4 each.

Jeremy Langford rushed 18 times for 72 yards and one touchdown and caught 3-of-4 targets for 70 yards

Langford was dominant against the San Diego Chargers, he is a do-it all back that can can catch, run, and block. He was fun to watch with his diving catch and touchdown from one-yard out.

He will find a tougher go against the St. Louis Rams, but it will be a big chance to prove himself.

Langford was dominant against the San Diego Chargers, he is a do-it all back that can can catch, run, and block. He was fun to watch with his diving catch and touchdown from one-yard out.

He will find a tougher go against the St. Louis Rams, but it will be a big chance to prove himself.

Fantasy Goo: Caveat Emptor is a latin term for "buyer beware." Langford's current ADP is right around the round 2-3 turn and at the present time, that is too rich for a convoluted situation. Expect a Hill/Bernard like role in this offense.

Chicago Bears running back Jeremy Langford is looking to improve as a receiver during his sophomore season in an effort to be a true three-down player.

Langford was dominant against the San Diego Chargers, he is a do-it all back that can can catch, run, and block. He was fun to watch with his diving catch and touchdown from one-yard out.

He will find a tougher go against the St. Louis Rams, but it will be a big chance to prove himself.

Langford was dominant against the San Diego Chargers, he is a do-it all back that can can catch, run, and block. He was fun to watch with his diving catch and touchdown from one-yard out.

He will find a tougher go against the St. Louis Rams, but it will be a big chance to prove himself.

Langford was dominant against the San Diego Chargers, he is a do-it all back that can can catch, run, and block. He was fun to watch with his diving catch and touchdown from one-yard out.

He will find a tougher go against the St. Louis Rams, but it will be a big chance to prove himself.
