Jordan Reed (toe) Activated from PUP List

Pyro's take: Fantasy Goo: Reed has averaged the most fantasy points per game over the past two seasons and is targeted on a minimum of 15% of his routes. Like Gronk, with Reed you have to assume that he will not play all 16 games, but don’t shy away from Reed because when he was active in 2016 he was a top 10 TE 75% of the time.

Reed Has "Special Shoes"

Pyro's take: “Redskins tight end Jordan Reed said his new cleats and orthotics have made a difference for his sprained big toe. Reed said, "I'll be out there shortly." He remains on the PUP list.”

Fantasy Goo: Jay Gruden has made it very clear that the offense runs through Jordan Reed, this was never more prominent than when the Redskins let their two best WRs based on production walk this offseason. Reed has obviously red flags when it comes to injuries, he is one dirty hit away from a career ending concussion. When he is healthy, there is no TE that I would rather have, Reed has averaged the most fantasy points per game over the past two seasons and is targeted on a minimum of 15% of his routes.

Reed Starts Season on PUP

Pyro's take: The Redskins have not released a specific injury, so we must assume that its connected to the shoulder or recurring concussions.

Fantasy Goo: I would hold off drafting any shares of Reed until the injury is confirmed. The Redskins opened training camp today, although unlikely it could be a new concussion or concussion-like symptoms, any new concussion issues will likely land Reed out of football.

Coach Speak: The Offense Runs Through Reed

Pyro's take: Coach Jay Gruden has given fantasy owners hints on what the Redskins plan to do with the 214 vacated targets that Garcon and Jackson left behind in Washington. He mentioned the entire WR core, but stated that the offense will run through Jordan Reed.

Fantasy Goo: Availability has always been the question with Reed not ability. Redskins TE's were 152 times last year with Reed only seeing 89. Expect Reed's market share to rise.

Reed is Inactive for Week 16

Pyro's take: Reed has indeed been ruled out for Week 16

Fantasy Goo: Davis has been streamable when Reed has been out this year. However it is a tough matchup as the Bears come in as giving up the 15th most FF Points to opposing TE#1s.

Reed Likely to Miss Week 13

Pyro's take: Reed's labrum still has limited motion, unless his recovery goes into Godspeed expect Reed to be out this week.

Fantasy Goo: All Reed owners must go cuff him with Vernon Davis even though they have a negative match up versus the Cardinals. This boosts the rankings of Jamison Crowder and D-Jax if he is healthy enough to go.

Reed Inactive

Pyro's take: Reed is indeed out. I love Cousins as a potential top 5 QB this week.

Fantasy Goo: With the matchup and the opportunity, Crowder gets another box checked with his CB/WR pairing. HE should see Diggs who is ranked by PFF 103 out of 115 potential CBs.

Jordan Reed Being Evaluated For An Apparent Concussion

Pyro's take: According to team beat reporters, Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is being evaluated for a concussion.

Fantasy Goo: If it is determined that he has a concussion, you can be sure that he doesn't suit up against the Philadelphia Eagles this week. In his absence, we can expect to see more targets thrown Jamison Crowder's way in a winnable matchup against the Eagles cornerbacks. If Reed is determined to have a concussion, it would be his fifth known concussion, and it may be fair to question whether he decides his mental health is more important than a game check.

Jordan Reed injury number 1,000

Jordan Reed is sitting out minicamp after suffering an ankle injury last week.

Pyro's take: Jordan Reed is sitting out minicamp after suffering an ankle injury last week.

Fantasy Goo: Jordan Reed might be the person most responsible for N.F.L. fans with anxiety disorders. When you draft him you are scared he will get hurt and then he does in fact get hurt and then he makes you waive him. Someone else then picks him up and like with what happened last year, rides Reed into the playoffs. Jordan “Mr. Glass” Reed is a top 5 tight end for 2016 if he is healthy on draft day.

Someone showed Reed that money

Redskins TE Jordan Reed is signing a 5-year, $50 million extension.

Pyro's take: Redskins TE Jordan Reed is signing a 5-year, $50 million extension. Reed will get to stay in Washington for the foreseeable future, and will have Captain Kirk throwing him the rock for at least one more season. Reed is a solid top-3 option going into next season and is one of the elite options in dynasty.

Reed was absolutely dominant in the redzone last season

Jordan Reed like a boss.

Pyro's take: Jordan Reed was a dominator in the redzone last season. Reed was targeted 24 times within the 20 last season, the fourth highest amount in the league. Reed caught a league leading 17 passes inside the 20 for a league leading 139 yards and ten touchdowns.

He was just as good inside the ten yard line catching nine of his 11 targets for 43 yards and seven scores.

Keeping up this elite production will be tough, but he will be a high pick in fantasy drafts in 2016 because of it.

Keep Rolling with Jordan Reed

Pyro's take: It’s another good week to play Redskins tight end Jordan Reed because of the matchup he’ll face in Carolina. The Panthers feature one of the NFL’s best pass defenses, holding opposing QBs to the lowest passer rating in the NFL. But they struggle with tight ends, allowing 13.43 yards per catch (second most in the NFL). One Redskins player said he anticipates another big game for Reed, saying, “none of them can cover him.” The book on Carolina’s linebackers is they struggle in part because of athleticism and technique, and Reed should benefit. -- John Keim

Jordan Reed (concussion) expects to return Sunday.

Pyro's take: “I’m good,” Reed said. “100-percent.”

The concussion is believed to be the fourth of his career, dating back to his college days.

“The last one held me out six weeks [and] his one was only two weeks,” Reed said. “So it was a lot different.”

He added: “It’s always scary when you got a concussion, man. You’re dealing with your brain. But it’s all healed up and I’ve got no more symptoms.”

Jordan Reed (concussion) is "improving," but remains uncertain for Week 7.

Pyro's take: According to Redskins twitter "Gruden says injuries to T. Williams, K. Lichtensteiger, J. Reed & C. Culliver "are all improving," but will have more information Wednesday."

Its not only important that Reed is improving, but how much more is he going to take? His career has been marred by concusions, and the concern of CTE should be setting in.

John Keim said "it's hard to imagine" Jordan Reed (concussion) will be back in the next two weeks

Pyro's take: ESPN reporter John Kein sees it may be a difficult process for Jordan Reed to get back to the field in a couple of weeks. Reed has had multiple concussions, and each one is harder to come back from.

Derek Carrier will continue to start at tight end while Reed is sidelined.

Jordan Reed (concussion, ankle, knee) not practicing 10/07/15

Pyro's take: Jordan Reed suffered another concussion in the game on Sunday. This is getting to a high amount for Reed. He has had them since his college days. He is mostly likely out for this week.

Derek Carrier is next man up at tight end.

Reed Sunday

Jordan Reed feels he can be a participant in Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He has practiced, but only in a limited aspect, but still hopes to play barring any setbacks. “Yeah, honestly. I feel like if I get everything done this week and everything goes smoothly, I can be out there on Sunday.”

Even though Reed believes there is tightness still in his hamstring he is close to 100%, and his size and athleticism make him a great contributor to the Kirk Cousins passing game. “Jordan is a major part of our offense and what we wanted to do from training camp on,” coach Jay Gruden said. “When we lost him in the first quarter of the Houston game, it put a little hurting on us. So, to get him back, if we do get him back, it is a great option for us, because he can win against linebackers and safeties.”

Pyro's take: Due to his inabilities to stay healthy, I don't think that the Redskins are going to push Reed into the lineup until he is not feeling any strain, and is limber enough to take the field. That said, if Reed does play, he will be in a limited role, or not at all.

It would be safe to assume that Niles Paul will get the action and start him if you normally would.

Reed Returns

John Keim who covers the Washington Redskins is reporting via his twitter feed @john_keim that: "Jordan Reed said this is the 1st week he feels there's a good chance he'll play. was able to stay after practice 2 do extra work"

Pyro's take: Great news for Jordan Reed owners, as it looks like he will be back in the starting line-up. How long he will be on the field depends on how much the coaches think he can shoulder, and if he can remain long enough without getting hurt.

Reed is a risky play every week, but he is a top producer when healthy. The Redskins like to use their tight ends, but they have another tough match-up against the Cardinals. I would only start him if necessary, and look forward to the Titans the following week.

Not active

Reed will miss his second consecutive start due to hamstring pull. “I was hoping for a miracle [but] Jordan Reed is out,” Gruden said of the second-year tight end, who was hurt in the first quarter Week 1.

Since his rookie season last year, Reed has missed nine games.

Pyro's take: Jordan Reed has become unreliable even when he does start. If you own Niles Paul it is a good time to put him in the line-up. He should continue with his hot streak against the Eagles. Paul has caught 12 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown in two games.

Jordan Reed Out

Jordan Reed will miss his eighth game in two seasons when his Washington Redskins teammates take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday without the tight end.

"It's just frustrating, man," Reed said of the current hamstring injury suffered last week, per CSN Washington. "It's just one thing after another. Just got to keep positive, just keep grinding and hopefully things will turn out for me."ay

Pyro's take: Jordan Reed has officially been ruled out. Get him out of your lineups, if you are tight end hungry and need a fill in play look for his backup Niles Paul if the likes of Tim Wright or Travis Kelce aren't available on your waiver wire.
