Chicago Bears

Jets Add Another Former Bear WR

After letting Brandon Marshall walk to the other locker room in NJ and releasing Decker, the Jets are starting to fill the void at WR with Marquess Wilson.

Fantasy Goo: Wilson isn't draft worthy as of now, but he has shown flashes in the pan with some big games. Keep him on your radar through the season as he could provide some strong weeks as bye week fill ins.

Wilson Re-Fractures his Left Foot

Marquess Wilson re-fractured his left foot on Tuesday. According to John Fox, he'll have surgery and could miss the start of the season.

Fantasy Goo: Kevin White and Alshon Jeffrey are light years ahead of Wilson in progression/talent. Historically, Fox shows loyalty to senior playmakers. White has yet to get playing time during the regular season. Wilson should go undrafted in almost all standard leagues.

Bellamy to get the Start in Week 13

The Bears will put Wilson and Royal on the bench in Week 13. Certainly no surprise where Royal is concererned. But, losing both could make Bellamy a sneaky, cheap DFS play. But keep in mind, they are heavy favorites over the 49'ers. The gamescript should lend itself to ground and ound for the Bears. I am just not sure how many points there will be to go around for Chicago pass catchers. If you play Bellamy, you are hopinbg Gabbert continues his surprising play and keeps this one close.

Mr. Wilson Will Be Lying in Bed in Week 13

Wilson has been ruled out for Week 13. This will bump up Josh Bellamy. The Bears should handily defeat the 49ers. Zach Miller is also Questionable. I think the running game will et the biggest bump, not the WRs, outside of Alshon. If the game goes to script, the Bears will be up and looking to chew up the clock with the ground game.

The Man

Wilson is a fast 6-foot-4 wideout, who the Bears have showed confidence in this past offseason by letting Earl Bennett walk. A broken collarbone derailed him a bit, but now Wilson has a huge opportunity as an every-down player in Marc Trestman's offense.

Keep an eye on Wilson as he fits into a great offensive scheme, and could hit a homerun for your fantasy needs.

Marquess Wilson

Chicago Bears

Wilson suffers broken Collarbone

Wilson has all but locked down the number three spot at wide receiver for the Bears after a strong training camp so far, and while he might miss a few weeks at the beginning of the season looks like a guy who should retain your attention. Wilson sparkled this training camp after spending the entire offseason working out with Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall while bulking up for an expanded role in the Bears passing attack.

While Wilson's injury timetable has yet to be released other players in the league typically return in a 6-8 week timeframe. Wilson should miss a few weeks but make sure you keep him on your radar after the first few weeks of the season as he could be one of the breakout candidates at the wide receiver position this season, especially if an injury were to occur to either of the Bears starters. With Jay Cutler under center and healthy, along with Marc Trestman calling the shots this offense looks poised for big things this season

Chicago Bears

Wilson to Train with Marshall and Jeffery in Florida this Offseason

Wilson was once considered a first round talent before quitting his team at Washington State. Wilson but up elite numbers in his college career of 33 games, catching 189 passes for 3,207 yards and 23 touchdowns. He would fall to the seventh round and be selected by the Chicago Bears who now have an affinity for big wide receivers.

Wilson could usurp Bennett in the pecking order but is far from a prototypical slot receiver. Wilson could have a major impact on the outside if given an increase in targets. Wilson turned 21 years old during the season and has a lot of growing left to do both physically and mentally but possesses tremendous upside. Wilson might be a few years away but training with two Pro-Bowl teammates can only help him mature. Keep Wilson on your radar as the offseason progresses especially in dynasty leagues.

Marquess Wilson making bid for Bears 3rd receiver role

Wilson is still not going to put up many fantasy points this season, but he becomes more intriguing as a dynasty stash player. He is a big receiver at 6'3" and 194 pounds and ran a 4.51 40. Wilson slipped to the 7th round due to character issues, but he has the skills to succeed at this level. If there is an injury to any of the Bears top receivers he would be an option to fill the spot. We will monitor this the rest of the preseason.
